What is Fascial Stretch Therapy?
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a form of practitioner-assisted stretching. Rather than following a general stretching routine on your own, you work one-to-one with a trained practitioner who guides your limbs and joints through comfortable, controlled movements. Sessions may involve supported positions on a treatment table and gentle changes in angle or range, with your feedback guiding the pace and intensity.
FST considers how muscles, joints and surrounding connective tissues contribute to the way you move. Its purpose within TTF’s fitness and wellness services is to support flexibility, mobility and awareness of movement—not to diagnose an injury or provide medical treatment.
Why clients seek FST
Long periods at a desk, repetitive activity, training demands and everyday routines can leave people feeling stiff or restricted. Clients may seek assisted stretching when they notice tightness around the shoulders, hips or lower back, or when movements such as reaching overhead, turning, bending and exercising feel less comfortable than they would like.
In TTF’s work with individual clients, FST has been used alongside personal fitness routines by people experiencing lower-back or shoulder discomfort. Some clients have described feeling less restricted and more comfortable moving after sessions. These are individual experiences, not guaranteed outcomes; persistent or unexplained pain should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
